Why is ConfiDance so Unique?

What is a Private-Group Class?

A private-group class is a combination of a private lesson and a group class. In a private lesson, which is the main way to learn, you get one-on-one attention. At ConfiDance, with the size limitations put on each class, you still get that private lesson feel. In a group class, your lesson is cheaper due to the volume of people. Since this is a group, your rate is much lower than that of a private lesson. This model is unique to ConfiDance!

Unique Curriculum

The problem with most group classes(and some private lessons) is that there is no plan. Most group classes are random in what is taught. Just as a teacher at a college has manuals and lesson plans, instructors at ConfiDance have the same. For those wanting a career in dance, we have a nationally recognized certification program. This revolutionary course is run using the DVIDA (Dance Vision International Dance Association) dance syllabus. Upon completion, you will have all the training necessary to certify yourself as a professional DVIDA instructor. Also, you will be able to lead and follow in 17 dances, instruct group or private lessons, and so much more! For social dancers & wedding couples, our courses for you are based off of the certification course. You learn how to learn. We have lesson plans that will get you to your goal.

Complete Learning Process

In addition to our private-group courses, we also teach subjects that will take your dancing, as well as your life to the next level. For our professional certification courses, classes are included in the curriculum for resume' building and interviewing. We also will help with job placement. We receive emails frequently from studios looking for certified instructors. For all courses we provide mental coaching, preparing your mind for the stages of learning dance. Other services we provide are private lessons, wedding dance courses and choreography, Salesfree Sales Training!

01.19.2013 - Ballroom Lecture Series "Hips Don't Lie"

The last Ballroom Lecture Series "A Judge's Perspective" was such a success that we are doing it again! This time we are bringing Mr. Sam Sodano!!! Bill Sparks, US Latin Champion and Sam Sodano, organizer of THE Ohio Star Ball will give us lectures on Rhythm and Latin.

10.06.2012 - Ballroom Lecture Series

This promises to be the biggest and most exciting dance camp of 2013! Instructors: Mazen Hamza & Izabella Jundzill, Bonita Brockert, Decho Kraev & Bree Watson, Gert Roslender, Eugene Katsevman & Maria Manusova. Also, we will have a workshop with Jessika Ferm from Next Level Dancing with her brilliant coaching to help your dancing soar!

ConfiDance Ballroom Academy

Michael Curtis, Owner/Master Instructor.

Michael Curtis has been teaching ballroom dance for 10 years. Dance began as a hobby for Michael. Then after taking lessons, he decided that he wanted to become an instructor. Around 2006, Michael decided to become a certified instructor. He found DVIDA. This organization gave certification exams to those that wanted to show a higher standard. In order to be a member, Michael would have to pass this exam. This is when he found that there were no schools in Ohio to prepare you for that certification exam. In 2009, Michael founded the ConfiDance Ballroom Academy. This program was created to give the help, that he didn't have, to those that wanted to learn to be a ballroom dance instructor. Michael has competed professionally in International Standard & Latin. He also holds certifications in American Smooth and Rhythm
